Level 1

  • Parts are right off the machine. Supports are removed. Support side sanded.
  • This level is great for concepts, testing, and verification

Level 2

  • Parts are sanded up to 320 grit. Majority of layer lines removed. Dimensional checks performed.
  • This level is Rapid PSI’s standard.
  • Parts can be used for RTV tooling
  • Suitable for painting (texture or smooth)

Level 3

  • Parts are sanded to at least 500 grit. All the layer lines are removed. Dimensional checks are performed.
  • Excellent finish for RTV tooling
  • Grits from 1500 to 12000 can be used for high luster
  • Parts can be plated with this level of finish

Choosing the right material for your project is important. We offer many different urethanes and silicones in a wide range of durometers. Data sheets of materials in stock are available for download.

We prefer you send a .stp or .x_t file if you are not familiar with exporting a good .stl file. It is very important to know the correct way to export a .stl file because the way you export the .stl will determine the quality of the part that is produced. To learn how to export a good .stl file please refer to the section labeled Creating a .STL file.
